Edentree Investment Management has hired Michael Moir as senior credit analyst for its fixed income team.

Prior to his appointment, Moir spent almost two years at Fitch Ratings as a senior analyst and over five years with the Bank of England, working his way from project analyst to senior supervisor.

Moir will lead the credit analytical research for the Responsible & Sustainable fixed income strategies in his new role, working under head of fixed income David Katimbo-Mugwanya and alongside co-manager of the Responsible & Sustainable fixed income funds, Michael Sheehan.

Charlie Thomas, chief investment officer at Edentree, said: “Michael is a fantastic addition to the fixed income team, and we are delighted to have him on board.

“The launch of the Global Impact Bond fund in 2022 signalled our commitment to clients and built on our existing responsible fixed income range. This hire is further to that, and I am excited to see how this team continues to go from strength to strength in the future.”

The Global Impact Bond fund has returned 3.3% in the last year, compared to a sector average of 1.2%, according to FE FundInfo, with a fund size of over £25m. In total, Edentree holds £3.7bn assets under management.

“I am delighted to be joining EdenTree at this exciting time. I was drawn to the team’s expertise and commitment to responsible and sustainable investing, alongside their unique heritage in the space,” Moir said.

“I look forward to playing a key role alongside David and Michael in building out the fixed income strategies in the future.”
