Wealth manager EQ Investors has promoted its former chief investment strategist Kasim Zafar to chief investment officer amid a reshuffle of its senior team.
Zafar (pictured) has been at the company since October 2014, and will now oversee all of the firm’s investment and asset management activities.
His promotion comes alongside the appointment of Louise McLean as head of investment operations.
Previously, McLean spent nearly four years at Maseco Private Wealth, joining as an operations manager in March 2019.
She was promoted to head of operations in May last year, but spent only eight months in the role before making the move to EQ in December.
She was also a senior manager in investment administration at JM Finn.
Sophie Kennedy, joint-CEO at EQ, said: “We are excited to welcome Louise to the team; her appointment reflects our ambition to maintain our proven track record of providing excellent client service whilst also meeting growing demand for our services.”
McLean said: “It is a great opportunity to join a sustainable and client-centric business that puts people first. I am looking forward to working with my colleagues to continue delivering great service and value to our clients and to driving improvements for them.”
Louisiana Salge has also been promoted to head of sustainability, and will be responsible for leading EQ’s sustainable and engagement initiatives.
