Brooks Macdonald has appointed Joe Capaldi as an investment director within its alternative investment management (AIM) portfolio service.
Capaldi joins the firm after eight years at Charlotte Square Investment Managers, where he held the role of investment director working on the firm’s own alternative investment management offering.
Brooks Macdonald’s Aim service offers investors access to companies listed on the Alternative Investment Market. The fund’s investment process focuses on “financially sound, profitable, and growing companies”.
For the 12 months to 30 September 2022, the service’s total returns were down 30.5%, though this was an outperformance against its Numis Alternative Markets benchmark which saw total returns drop 34.4% over the same period.
Ewan Millar (pictured), head of Aim and senior investment director, said: “Joe brings a wealth of experience and a record of achievement, making him the ideal person to further strengthen our best-in-class service for our Aim clients.”
