Waverton Investment Management has hired Abrdn business development director Nick Webb into its UK-wide adviser solutions team.
As business development manager, Webb (pictured) is primarily responsible for adviser relationships in the southeast of England and promoting Waverton’s full range of services, including its managed portfolio service, which has seen a 45% increase in the number of supporting firms this year.
During his 12-and-a-half-year career at Abrdn, Webb covered not only the southeast of England, but also East Anglia, the Midlands, and the Channel Islands. He has also worked at Franklin Templeton and Fidelity.
John Bellamy, managing director, head of adviser solutions at Waverton, said: “[Webb] brings a raft of experience with him from some of the industry’s top firms, but most importantly, he shares our ambition to continue the tremendous growth we’ve seen over the last several years. We look forward to supporting him as he continues expanding the firm’s footprint across the southeast.”
Webb said: “I’m excited to be joining the Waverton team. I’ve followed the business’ growth over the last few years and have been impressed by their ambition and values as a business. We know that right now advisers are looking for tailored investment portfolios to match their clients’ financial objectives, so it’s great to be joining an investment strategy underpinned by a propriety protection strategy which acts as a hedge against inflation and sharp downside market falls at all times.”
Waverton’s adviser solutions team managed £2.28bn of assets as of September this year, and added a business development consultant to the fold in the summer.
