Discretionary fund manager Copia Capital has recruited Craig Berry to its distribution team as it looks to extend its reach among advisers in the North.

In the newly created role of sales manager for the North, Berry will work with advice firms in the north of England, Northern Ireland and Scotland.

He began his 15-year career as a financial adviser at Lloyds Banking Group, before moving into business development roles at MetLife Investment Management and Quilter. He transfers from Novia Financial, where he was regional sales manager for Yorkshire and the north east.

Copia, which has £1.6bn in assets under administration, is the investment arm of Novia. The UK platform provider has since merged with Wealthtime, following its acquisition by Anacap and assumed the latter’s branding.

Berry joins the existing sales team of Tony Hicks, who covers the City of London and the southeast, Greg Mayho ,who is responsible for the Midlands and East Anglia, and Simon Eakin, who works with firms in the home counties and West London.

Commenting on his appointment Hicks said: “Working exclusively with IFAs, our business is built around the strength of our partnerships with advisers. We are seeing increasing demand for our services as firms continue to look at ways to de-risk their fund management activities, and Craig’s industry experience, existing relationships and knowledge of Copia’s investment solutions will be invaluable in harnessing this growing interest and driving further expansion across the UK.”
