Quilter Investors has lined up Schroders’ former multi-manager boss Marcus Brookes to replace Bambos Hambi as its chief investment officer.
Brookes (pictured) will be responsible for the portfolio management desk of Quilter’s multi-asset business and report to Steve Levin, CEO of Quilter Investors and the Quilter platform.
He succeeds outgoing CIO Hambi who last month announced he would retire from the business to spend more time with his family.
Brookes has over 20 years’ experience in the multi-asset space at Gartmore, Insight Investments, Cazenove Capital and Schroders, where he was head of multi-manager for 11 years from 2008. In May 2019, he stepped up to become the CIO of Schroders Personal Wealth, the FTSE 100 manager’s wealth and financial planning business with Lloyds.
Levin said: “We are thrilled to appoint Marcus Brookes as CIO, as he has extensive experience in investment management and brings in-depth insight into creating multi-asset solutions that meet client expectations. His appointment reflects Quilter Investors’ ambition as a leading UK multi-asset solutions business.”
SPW said Brookes would be leaving the business in the second quarter of 2022. He will remain in charge of the investment office while a replacement is found.
“Marcus has played a fundamental role in leading our investment office and building the early foundations of SPW. We want to thank Marcus for his work and wish him all the best for his next chapter,” a spokesperson for the company said.
