Capital Group has hired Columbia Threadneedle US equities boss for EMEA Nadia Grant as it looks to expand its multi-asset business outside the US.

Grant (pictured) joins Capital Group’s Solutions Investment group, the global team tasked with managing its multi-asset range, and will be constructing portfolios for clients in Europe and Asia. She will be based in London.

Capital Group claims to be one of the largest investment companies in the world with $1.9trn in assets under management. It currently looks after around $412bn worth of multi-asset funds for clients globally but is looking to expand its footprint in Europe and Asia.

“A key priority of the firm’s long-term growth strategy in Europe and Asia is to continue to expand the range of solutions we can offer our clients,” said solutions investment director Simon Levell. “Bringing skilled investment talent like Nadia on board will help us achieve this goal.”

Grant joins Capital Group from Columbia Threadneedle where she has spent the last six years, most recently as head of EMEA-based US equities. Before joining the fund group in 2014 she spent 13 years at JP Morgan Asset Management, working in a variety of investment roles, including a portfolio manager in its global multi-asset group. She has a master’s degree from Reims Business School and is a CFA charterholder.
