Online wealth manager Wealthify has boosted its fund selection capabilities with the hire of Kyle Cox from South African single family office Marr Holdings.

Cox (pictured) will head up fund selection at Cardiff-based Wealthify with a focus on ethical and sustainable funds.

Wealthify interim CIO David Semmens said: “[Cox] will lead Wealthify’s fund research process for ethical and original plans, while contributing to the broader investment team functions – asset allocation and portfolio management.”

At Marr Holdings Cox was involved in the day-to-day management of the family’s assets which included commercial property, private equity and listed equity.

Before this he worked as a senior investment analyst at alternatives investment platform Invictus Capital in South Africa and prior to that, he was an investment analyst at Morningstar Investment Management in South Africa where he played a key role in developing the firm’s fund research process.

Earlier this year Wealthify promoted Layth Saadi to investment manager to lead investment operations following the departure of senior investment manager Andrew Amy to Whickr, the horse-trading app he co-founded in June 2018.
