Sarasin & Partners head of third party funds Lucy Walker has left the firm after nearly 10 years.
Walker (pictured) confirmed on her LinkedIn profile that she had departed the firm on Friday, 7 July.
She joined Sarasin in 2011 as an analyst before becoming a fund manager in 2012 and then being promoted to head of third party funds in 2016. She became an associate partner at the firm in 2014 and a senior associate partner in 2018.
Walker was co-manager on the £20.6m Sarasin Fund of Funds Global Diversified Growth fund and the £33m Sarasin Fund of Funds Global Equity fund, alongside Adil Alaoui.
She also sat on Sarasin’s investment policy committee which has responsibility for the strategy of the firm’s £14bn of assets under management.
“I feel so fortunate to have worked with some incredible people, many of whom have become friends,” she wrote.
“When I joined, the firm had only a small exposure to third party funds, and I leave having helped build processes, and what is now a significant investment in alternatives.”
Before joining Sarasin, Walker worked in the HSBC Global Asset Management multi-manager team as a UK fund analyst.
Walker, who is a non-executive director at the Aurora Investment Trust, did not reveal her next move but wrote that she has some “other exciting plans”.
Outside of asset management she sits on the audit and risk committee at SportsAid, a charity providing financial support and personal development opportunities to future athletes, and is a treasurer at KEEN London, which provides one-on-one sports and fun for children with special needs.
