River and Mercantile has nabbed another wholesale distribution hire from Merian Global Investors with Martin Canavan joining the team this month.
Canavan will be sales director for the north of England, Scotland, Ireland and the Isle of Man.
“The company understands that there is a world outside of London and is determined to provide all its clients with dedicated and visible relationship management wherever they be,” he said.
River & Mercantile’s wholesale distribution team is headed up by Simon Smith, who joined from Merian in July.
At Merian, Canavan had been a sales and relationship manager for IFAs and DFMs across similar northern territories, a press release said. Previously he worked at Kames Capital.
He said he was looking forward to working with River & Mercantile’s “strong equity product line up”.
