Subject to regulatory approval, he will take on the role on 20 August 2018.
Thorpe joins with 18 years’ experience in financial services, most recently at Brewin Dolphin where he was responsible for group financial planning and analysis, financial control and tax and treasury. He also led a programme to upgrade and restructure the group’s finance function.
Prior to this, he held senior finance positions at Standard Bank and Barclays Capital and worked for Royal Bank of Scotland and Morgan Stanley earlier in his career.
