Artemis Investment Management has appointed Andy Marsh to replace Adrian Gosden in its UK equity income team.

Marsh (pictured) joins Artemis in February from Polar Capital where he was a partner managing money for the last 11 years.

Earlier this year, Gosden left to join GAM. Prior to this, he worked with Adrian Frost and Nick Shenton on the £6.1bn Artemis Income Fund for 13 years, a role Marsh will now take on.

Marsh said: “I am delighted to be joining Artemis. The opportunity to work alongside Adrian and Nick, and on a fund with such a strong franchise and record, is an exciting one.”

Previously, Marsh trained with Ernst & Young and qualified as an accountant in 1997 before working as an analyst for ING Charterhouse and Merrill Lynch. In 2005, he moved to Investec Investment Bank as head of equity sales.

Frost said: “Given his calibre and experience, we are very pleased that Andy will be joining us. His approach to picking stocks – concentrating on free cashflow and sustainable returns for investors – fits well with ours.

“Nick and I look forward to working with Andy over the years ahead.”
