HSBC Global Asset Management has nabbed hires from across the investment industry to launch a telephone sales team for intermediaries.

Fay Hendon, who previously headed the advisory sales team at Aviva Investors, joins as head of UK intermediary business development, responsible for leading the newly-created telephone sales team dedicated to helping intermediary clients find product and solutions to meet their clients’ needs.

She has also held similar roles at Axa Investment Managers, Close Brothers, Gartmore and Deutsche Bank over her 25-year career.

She reports into head of UK wholesale Daniel Rudd, who said HSBC Gam already had an extensive network of experienced relationship managers on the ground across the UK. “This newly created telephone sales team will build on the fantastic work they are already doing, ensuring that we continue to meet intermediaries needs and help them deliver great products and services to their clients.”

In addition, Kieran Daly, Marcus Hartley and Natasha Crosby join the telephone sales team as UK intermediary business development managers, focusing on the North & Scotland, the South West and Midlands regions, and South East and London respectively.

Crosby joins from Seven Investment Management where she worked in the sales team for the UK intermediaries, working with accounts in the North. She previously covered the Midlands and Wales at Aviva Investors.

Daly joins from BNY Mellon Investment Management where he worked in its sales team in the advisory market, focusing on the Midlands and north of England. He has also held roles at Coutts Bank, working with high net worth individuals and commercial clients.

Hartley joins from Old Mutual Wealth where he was a wealth sales consultant, before which he was portfolio manager at Coutts.

HSBC Gam said the quadruple hire follows the addition of Louise Slade and Rob Gillies in 2018.

Slade is director of business development for the Midlands and South West, joining from Nikko Asset Management with experience also at JP Morgan Asset Management.

Gillies joined from Alliance Trust Savings to become director of business development for London, focusing on financial advisers. He had previously worked at Fidelity Investments and Ren Asset Managers.
