Based in Hong Kong, Juillard will establish and lead a new investment team of around 10 people from different backgrounds, focused on liquid absolute return strategies. He will report to Andrea Rossi, CEO of AXA IM.
Subject to regulatory approval, AXA IM aims to launch this new offering in the second half of 2016 through a dedicated asset management subsidiary in Hong Kong, but expects client demand from across the globe.
“Our focus as a business is to grow third party assets while continuing to meet the needs of the AXA Group around the world and central to this is our ability to offer clients innovative solutions that meet their needs,” said Andrea Rossi, CEO of AXA IM. “We believe that AXA IM can provide a lot of added value for investment teams that are ready to develop products that are complementary to our existing range”.
Juillard joins AXA IM from Goldman Sachs in Hong Kong where he was a partner and head of structuring in the securities division in Asia Pacific. Prior to that he was head of structured finance at AXA IM, having joined the company in 1999 as head of financial engineering and asset and liability management studies.
“Clients are looking for sources of return without wanting to compromise on liquidity. I am therefore incredibly excited to be re-joining AXA IM in order to build a platform for liquid absolute return strategies – exploiting a wide range of sources of return in order to meet this strong client need,” said Juillard.
