Macdonald will join the company on 1 February, having being absent from the asset management industry since 2011, and is part of Marlborough’s efforts to expand its Asian fund range.
Over her career, the Asian equity specialist has held roles at City of London Investment Management, Dalton Strategic Partnership, Morley Fund Management, Canada Life UK and Lazard Asset Management.
Nicholas Cooling, deputy chairman of Marlborough Fund Managers, said: “Sally is a highly-experienced investment professional with 27 years in the industry, including 20 years as a specialist managing Asian funds.
“Asian markets provide a range of opportunities for investors and part of Sally’s role will be to help us examine opportunities for new products to complement our existing fund range.”
