The running of Ulrich’s funds – F&C’s UK Mid Cap, Institutional UK Equity and UK Alpha vehicles – will be taken over by UK Alpha co-manager Tom Wilson on a permanent basis.
In a statement, F&C said that Ulrich had ended his nine-year association with the firm in order to “pursue other opportunities”.
Ulrich joined the firm from Deutsche Asset Management in November 2005, and in the past five years has delivered performance growth of 105.6% against the peer group total of 57.7%.
He replaced Peter Lees at the helm of the UK Alpha Fund in January, with Lees resigning from F&C the following month.
