Hallen joins the team from Premier Asset Management and will report to Leigh Philpot, head of portfolio management.
Hallen worked as an investment specialist and private client portfolio manager at Premier, and co-managed the Premier Alternative Strategies Fund. Prior to this he was head of research at the firm, and deputy chief investment officer and fund manager at Skandia.
This is the second high profile appointment Kleinwort Benson has made this year, following Jeremy Hippolite joining the firm as head of UK financial intermediaries at the start of January.

The firm won the Platinum award for Cautious Portfolio (Large) at this year’s inaugural Portfolio Adviser Wealth Manager Awards.
