The fund previously had an initial charge of 3.75% for retail investors and soft closed in November 2010 having amassed £788.5m AUM. It is managed by James Donald, head of the emerging markets group at Lazard.

The fund now has £488.4m under management, and a spokesperson said that it was being reopened due to natural investor movement and to enable the team to maintain a diversified investor base. It has returned 9.6%, 8.8% and 7.9% over one, three and five years respectively.

The spokesperson said: “We recognise that emerging market capability is an important focus for our clients and we believe that these funds fulfil this need, having delivered top quartile performance over the past three and five years.”
