He will be taking on his new role from 16 September, based in London, and reports to CEO David Brennan.
At Schroders Lambden oversaw £90bn of assets. Prior to this, he was CEO and CIO of the firm’s Australian business, heading up the division’s equity, fixed income and multi-asset teams.
Marino Valensise, who has been CIO at Barings the past 7 years, will take on the role as head of multi asset group and reports to Lambden. He takes on this position following the resignation of Percival Stanion.
Standion will still be the main manager of the Dynamic Emerging Markets Fund while serving his leaving notice, but has stepped down from the strategic policy group which makes all the investment decisions for the funds. In his place, Valensise will take the position of chairman. He will also take on the responsibility of the fund when Stanion departs. Christopher Mahon will take leadership of the Baring Multi Asset Fund.
Sonja Laud also crosses over from Schroders to take on the position of multi asset income investment manager at Barings. She will report to Valensise in London. At Schroders Laud was a fund manager responsible for five global equity funds that focused on income.
“We are pleased to welcome Ken to the firm as we continue to strengthen and develop our investment capabilities. It is a natural fit for Marino to assume leadership of our multi asset franchise ensuring continuity of investment approach and insight across the portfolios,” Brennan commented.
