ETP specialist Source has hired a new head of investment content to oversee its product design from external providers.

Nicolas Samaran has joined from his role as a senior member of the product structuring and financing group at Man Investments based in Switzerland. Prior to Man, he was an executive director in the fund derivative structuring group at UBS Investment Management in London.

He started his career at Commerzbank Securities in London where he worked in the fund derivative structuring team before which he was a fund derivative trader.

As executive director and head of investment content at Source he will report to Peter Thompson, head of distribution and strategy, with responsibility for the search for and selection of new and innovative investment content from third-party providers.

He will inherit partnerships and best-of-breed solutions built that Source has already built with companies such as Man GLG, Pimco, Legal & General Investment Management, Nomura and JP Morgan.

Samaran will concentrate on identifying differentiated content and then implement those strategies alongside Source’s existing product range.
