Simon Thompson has been promoted to chief operating officer reporting to Mark Zinkula, Chief Executive Officer at LGIM.
He joined the firm in 2011 as head of product strategy and development from Millgate Capital, where he was chief operating officer.
Thompson began his investment career trading derivatives at Nomura International in 1991.
Secondly, Andrew Hitchings has joined LGIM as head of large UK clients reporting to Hugh Cutler, head of Europe and Middle East.
He joins from State Street Global Advisors and has worked in the industry since 1985.
He has fund management, relationship management and leadership experience gained through a number of roles, according to LGIM.
