He replaces Hugo Thorman who will become chairman of the company and work closely with Taylor.
He joined Royal London in 2013 through the acquisition of the Coop’s life insurance business CIS, where he headed up a number of divisions, including IT and technology strategy and business transformation.
Commenting on the appointment, Thorman said: "We are delighted to appoint Jon to the role of managing director. I have got to know him personally over the last year through his role on the Royal London executive committee, and he will be a great leader for Ascentric."
The wrap platform is owned by Royal London and currently has £8bn assets under administration.
