Both funds saw a period of underperformance last year but have recently bounced back.

The Invesco Perpetual Latin America Fund suffered from a period of underperformance relative to the sector, which hurt it on a one and three year cumulative basis.  However, things have brightened in the short-term with a period of outperformance.

“The fund has attracted over £400m of investor assets and could now appeal to football fans with over 62% invested in equities based in Brazil, host of the 2014 World Cup,” Martin Bamford, managing director at Informed Choice, said.

Meanwhile, the BlackRock Strategic Funds Latin American Opportunities Fund focuses 70/30 on large and small cap stocks respectively. It too has been marked by a period of poor performance but has seen a recent upswing.
