He replaces Gary Powell who has moved upstairs to become head of strategy and corporate development.
Both positions are effective immediately.
In his new role, Powell will work alongside the Rothschild Group’s co- chief executives, Nigel Higgins and Olivier Pecoux, to develop the group’s strategy with a particular focus on its wealth management and trust business.
He joined Rothschild in 1994 as an investment banker before moving across to the wealth management business in 2006 where he will keep a place on the executive committee.
Kary has been with the firm for the past two years having joined from Polar Capital where he had been chief executive since 2005. He also has 19 years experience with Morgan Stanley’s wealth management business.
