Alongside this the fund group has detailed a new fund launch for Gervais Williams and Martin Turner investing in UK quoted smaller companies.
The Acuim and Midas brands will be swallowed by the Miton name under the group’s plans and each of the run by these subsidiaries will become Miton funds.
"As we continue to grow and develop we believe that clarity and simplicity are key to our continued progress and success. By moving to a single unified brand and clarifying fund names, we believe it will make it clearer for both our intermediary and end customers."
Under the rebrand the following funds will be renamed:
- Acuim UK Multi Cap Income Fund will become the CF Miton UK Multi Cap Income Fund (effective 14 December 2012).
- CF Midas Balanced Growth Fund to change to CF Miton Diversified Growth Fund (effective 31 December 2012 subject to FSA approval).
- CF Midas Balanced Income Fund to change to the CF Miton Distribution Fund (effective 31 December 2012 subject to FSA approval).
- Additionally, the Midas Capital Partners Limited regulated subsidiary, under which the Midas and Acuim funds operate, will become Miton Capital Partners Limited – effective 14 December 2012.
Meanwhile, the Miton UK Smaller Companies Fund will also launch on 14 December and will focus its capital in stocks quoted outside the FTSE 350.
MAM Funds said it would be a "genuine small cap fund mandate investing primarily in the AIM, small cap and fledgling businesses.
Williams added: "Historically, small cap stocks are an under-researched and often ignored area of the quoted markets. But frequently these small stocks are more durable than first perceived and capable of thriving in the challenging world we are experiencing today.
"We anticipate that many of the smaller quoted stocks will be the best performers in the coming years."
MAM funds also updated investors on the following fund name changes:
Recently, the CF Miton Select Assets Fund changed its name to CF Miton Worldwide Opportunities Fund (effective 24 October 2012) and shortly, the CF Miton Arcturus Fund will change to CF Miton Total Return Fund (effective 28 December 2012)
