Seven Investment Management’s head of financial planning, George Martineau, and financial planner, Paul Gillen, have become the latest former Tcam employees to leave the firm.

7IM confirmed that Martineau and Gillen have both left to pursue new opportunities. A spokesperson for the DFM said: “We would like to thank them both for their contributions to the firm.”

Gillen has since joined Argyle Consulting as a senior consultant, according to his LinkedIn profile.

They both joined 7IM after its acquisition of Tcam in May 2018, a deal which brought 7IM’s assets to £13.6bn.

Martineau and Gillen follow in the footsteps of former Tcam CEO and co-founder Haig Bathgate who left in March this year, reportedly to launch a hedge fund business.

Similarly, Tcam’s other founder, Alexander Montgomery, left just a year after the acquisition despite being made head of wealth management at 7IM. He resurfaced at James Hambro & Partners in February.

The departures come as 7IM continues to wind up two funds inherited from Tcam. In March this year it announced the suspension of the 7IM Absolute Return Portfolio and Income Portfolio.

7IM has lost a number of senior staff in recent years including co-founders Tom Sheridan in March 2019 and Justin Urquhart Stewart in December 2019.

The firm has made a number of acquisitions since Tcam including financial planner Partners Wealth Management, as well as wealth manager matchmaker website, Findawealthmanager.com in October last year.
