Woodford IM and L&G to fund UK start-ups

Woodford Investment Management (IM) and Legal & General’s principal investment arm have taken stakes in a £150m venture platform to support UK digital start-ups at all stages of the funding cycle.

He said LGC was already regenerating towns and cities across the UK, backing clean energy projects, building homes and providing debt finance for UK SMEs.

“Now we are getting to the root of UK enterprise by supporting thousands of tech start-ups and growth businesses, creating jobs and boosting the economy,” he added.
