Tilney Smith & Williamson has hired Richard Stanwell as an investment director for its London-based team.

Stanwell has over 25 years’ experience, including senior roles at Barclays Wealth and Kleinwort Benson where he was head of UK teams. Since 2018 he has worked as a senior director for EFG Private Bank looking after trusts, foundations, high net worth individuals and family offices.

Chris Kenny, managing director at Tilney Smith & Williamson, said: “This is a significant appointment for us and I know that Richard will play an important role in helping to bring continued growth to our wealth management business.”

Stanwell added he was pleased to be joining the investment team where he will reunite with several former colleagues, including Andrew Lewin.

“I have long been impressed by the firm’s breadth of services, including investment management, financial planning and tax, as well its investment propositions, incorporating bespoke, managed portfolio service, Aim and Bestinvest,” Stanwell said.

“It’s great to be joining a firm that has the ability to look after clients nationally and internationally, and a strong investment track record which continues to serve clients very well.”
