Both joined the firm following its acquisition of the Newton private client business in 2013 as head of investments and senior portfolio manager, respectively.
Reporting directly to CEO Richard Charnock, Hair will have responsibility for the overall performance of the firm’s investment portfolios, which have over £6.7bn assets under management, and will form part of it London-based leadership team.
He will also continue to manage portfolios for charities, private clients, trusts and pensions.
Reporting to Hair, Ashcroft will assume overall responsibility for the firm’s Conventional range of portfolios, as well as managing The Balanced Bridge Fund, and the Standard Life Wealth Offshore Income Fund.
Darren Ripton will continue in his role as co-head of investments, having responsibility for the oversight of Standard Life Wealth’s Target Return portfolios.
