Bringing 12 years’ industry experience, Ahmad has been a currency portfolio manager at JPM since 2013 and will take on responsibility for emerging market currency overlay strategies across the entire EMD range.

He will be based in London and report to Richard House, head of emerging markets fixed income.

House said: “Imran’s appointment reflects our commitment to, and belief in, the long-term opportunities the EMD asset class has to offer.

“Imran’s skillset complements the team’s approach to managing EM fixed income portfolios, namely high-conviction, macro-based investing.”

The news comes alongside the announcement of a new EMD unconstrained SICAV to be run by House and Kieran Curtis. The launch will be the fourth product in the EMD range.
