Schroders’ Blanning ends 32-year career

Schroders’ is set to lose the head of its emerging market debt absolute return and commodities group, Geoff Blanning, who will retire in April 2018.

Blanning, who has 32 years industry experience, will leave the fund house after 19 years and will be succeeded by Abdallah Guezour, the current head of EM debt absolute return who he has worked with for more than 20 years, in January.

Mark Lacey will take on leadership of the commodities team and responsibility for energy sector from January, he is currently fund manager for the commodities, global energy and global gold strategies.
