The Portfolio Adviser editorial team has scooped an award for its “outstanding” journalism.

The team was crowned wholesale team of the year at the Kames Capital Journalism Awards on Thursday evening at the asset manager’s office in the Leadenhall building in the City of London.

Now in their fifth year, the awards recognise “outstanding investment journalism across its different forms”. The winners were chosen by a 25-strong judging panel, made up of independent industry experts from institutional and wholesale markets, many of whom are Portfolio Adviser readers.

This is the second time PA has been crowned wholesale team of the year by Kames after taking home the gong in 2016.

Awards were also presented on the evening for institutional team and national investment team, while individual prizes were awarded for broadcast, freelance, institutional and national investment journalist.

Kames Capital chief investment officer and acting chief executive Stephen Jones (pictured right above) handed out the trophies.

He said: “Huge congratulations to all the winners and runners up of the awards. I would also like to thank the esteemed panel of judges for taking the time to make considered nominations.

“We are proud to be able to recognise the achievements of journalists in simplifying, educating and importantly entertaining their audiences on the topic of investments through our awards.”
