The PIMCO GIS Mortgage Opportunities Fund aims to capitalise on the $11 trillion securitised market which it said has historically attractive returns.
The firm will actively manage exposure to risks such as interest-rate changes and credit risk.
The UCITS-compliant fund will be managed by portfolio managers Daniel Hyman, Alfred Murata and Josh Anderson.
“Given the historically low yields on core bonds, and the correlation of corporate credit to equities, a dedicated allocation to securitized assets can help investors improve the overall diversification of their portfolios while also potentially enhancing returns,” Hyman said.
The fund is registered in 14 different countries, including the UK and Ireland.
