Stanion joined Pictet in 2014, along with Baring Asset Management colleagues Shaniel Ramjee and Andrew Cole, to head the firm’s international multi-asset business in London.

He was lead manager of the FP Pictet Multi Asset Portfolio and the Pictet Sicav II – Dynamic Asset Allocation fund.

Seen as a pioneer in the multi-asset space, Stanion spent 13 years at Barings as head of its multi-asset business and prior to that, three years at BNP Paribas Asset Management as head of asset allocation.

Before that, he spent his first stint at Pictet, from 1993 to 1998.

A Pictet spokesperson said: “Percival was an equity partner who joined Pictet in 2014 to head Pictet Asset Management’s international multi-asset business, based in London. But we knew him for a long time, as he had previously worked at PAM between 1993 and 1998.

“He was a man of great integrity, culture and penetrating intelligence, whose insights into financial markets were always incisive and elegantly expressed.

“Percival bore his illness with fortitude and stayed involved in the business until very recently. We shall miss him.”
