He is taking on the role from Mike Gush, and will be assisted by Roderick Snell who continues in his role as deputy. Gush, who managed the fund since July 2008, will continue in his role as fund manager in the emerging markets equity team, which covers Asian equities.
Markson-Brown joined the firm in September 2013 and oversaw responsibilities covering the Korean and ASEAN markets. Prior to joining, he was senior vice president of emerging market equities at Pimco Europe. Before that role he worked as portfolio manager covering Asian equities at Newton Investment Management.
