The new UCITS compliant offering has a bottom-up approach with a portfolio of approximately 60 long and short positions in European large and mid-caps.

Arminjon began working in the investment industry in 1997, joining Lazard in June this year from Henderson Global Investors, where he had been lead portfolio manager of the Henderson Horizon Pan-European Alpha Fund and the Alphagen Tucana Fund.

The Fund will be managed out of London with Arminjon supported by portfolio manager and analyst, Nitin Arora, who recently joined after five years as an analyst at HSBC covering asset managers, specialist lenders, brokers and European investment banks.

“The nascent European recovery offers an attractive backdrop for investors, but remains complex and volatile as evidenced by the sovereign crises of the past few years,” said Arminjon. “This strategy can take steps to adapt to these circumstances with a view to protect capital, offering the potential for a lower risk option to access European stock markets.”

As of 30 June 2015, Lazard Asset Management and affiliated asset management companies in the Lazard Group had $203 billion of client assets.
