Sam Petts left Killik & Co earlier this year and at the time it was reported he was relocating to the north of England.
In a statement from Clarion, which is based in a village called Alderley Edge between Macclesfield and Manchester, the firm said Petts would offer “integrated financial planning solutions” to business owners across the North West region.
Ron Walker, managing director at Clarion, said:
“Sam’s in-depth knowledge of pensions, taxation and intergenerational planning, involving all members of a family in a financial plan, will serve to strengthen Clarion’s niche wealth planning services.
“His strong track record for building relationships with professional services partners will also be an asset to Clarion as we continue our successful expansion.”
The statement said Petts had joined Clarion during “the latest phase of an ambitious growth drive”.
In February the firm hired wealth manager Jonnie Whittle to work with high-net-worth business owners.
