Having started in her newly-created role on 6 January, she is responsible for idea generation and portfolio management across North American equities. She reports to Marcus Chandler, head of North American equities.
Previously, Bell worked as an investment analyst at Baillie Gifford, where she was responsible for researching North American equities with particular focus on the technology and energy sectors. Prior to this, she analysed Asian equities and UK equities, and also established her own education business which she subsequently sold to investors.
“Carolyn brings a breadth of experience across a diverse range of international and domestic equity markets and her appointment will greatly enhance our international equity capabilities,” Chandler commented.
Bailie Gifford was unable to comment on who will be taking over Bell's previous investment analyst role.
