Griffiths, who has worked at the business for 17 years, co-manages the three absolute return funds with David Pringle and Malcolm McPartlin.
A statement from Kames said the funds will continue to be co-managed by Pringle and McPartlin and that the stepping down of Griffiths will not lead to any changes in the investment process.
As Kames employs a team-based approach on all of its funds, it added that Griffiths’ departure should not impact on the strategy or the direction of the investments in the funds.
Griffiths had co-managed the £372m UK Absolute Return fund since its launch in February 2010, while the two Dublin-domiciled Equity Market Neutral and Market Neutral Plus funds were launched in November 2014.
“Kames would like to thank David for his contribution to our business over the last 17 years, and to wish him and his family every success in the future,” said a Kames’ spokesperson.
