Emly, co-manager of the JP Morgan Income & Capital Trust, was said to have battled ill health with “courage, humour and determination” over the past few years.
In a statement, JP Morgan described her as “truly inspirational”.
She was a co-manager for the JP Morgan Claverhouse and JP Morgan Elect Managed Income funds, as well as the capital trust.
Emly became a portfolio manager in 1999, four years after joining the firm as a graduate from the University of Bath.
She first took a nine-month leave of absence in 2015 due to ill health, but returned in mid-2016.
The trust portfolio will continue to be managed John Baker, supported by the UK equities team, the firm said.
