Investec Wealth & Investment has hired Jane Warren to spearhead its drive into the online simplified advice business.

In a short press release the wealth manager said Warren has taken on the newly created role of head of digital at the firm, and will oversee the development of its new “simplified advice-based online investment management service”.

She will also manage all aspects of its digital relationship with clients.

A spokesman for the firm could not say anything more than it was to be launched toward the end of the year.

Jonathan Wragg, Investec Wealth & Investment CEO, said: “Our digital services will play a growing role in driving client acquisition, engagement, market differentiation and growth.

Adding: “Our investment in this area puts us in a strong position to extend our investment management expertise to a broader range of clients.”

Warren joined the group in May 1994 when it was still Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite.She was appointed head of business projects in 2004, the firm said, and was the lead on several major initiatives “including the integration of Carr Sheppards Crosthwaite and Rensburg Sheppards in 2006 and the subsequent integration of IW&I and Williams de Broë in 2012”
