The ‘Income Builder Plus – April 2012’ also has an alternative growth option, which means investors can take a one-off growth payment of 40.9% at the end of the term instead.
Observations for the plan are weekly and accrue so long as the FTSE 100 is above the 3,500 level.
For capital protection, the fixed barrier of 3,500 is observed on the start and end dates of the five-year plan.
Using back-testing, Gilliat can show that since 1996 the FTSE 100 has only been below the capital protection barrier on eight days.
Adrian Neave, MD of Gilliat, said: "Our Income Builder Plus continues to offer potential returns in excess of equivalent term deposits and we continue to see strong support from the adviser community.
"The barrier for both the accrual of returns and capital protection remains fixed at 3,500 and this is still the only retail product that takes this approach to capital protection."
