Hardenberg said the fund will be a “concentrated, high conviction portfolio” with more than 34% exposed to just 10 stocks.

It reopens on 31 May, four years after being closed in June 2013.

The closure was as a result of too much money entering the fund quickly and there being “nowhere to put it”, according to Mobius.

“There was a bit of a boom and everybody jumped on the bandwagon”, he added.

Currently running at just under $1bn, the fund has lost around two-thirds of its value during the four year closure.

Hardenberg said most of the redemptions were due to investors looking to invest in gold, US equities or to hold as cash.
