He joins the firm from multi-asset hedge fund Nuvest Capital where he was a fixed income portfolio manager.
Fleming will report to John McNeill, investment manager, and work closely with Colin Findlayson who co-manages the Kames Absolute Return Bond Fund.
The Dublin-domiciled Oeic has around £68.9m under management and it invests in global debt in any currency, and in ratings ranging from AAA government bonds to high yield and emerging market bonds.
It currently has 81% of assets committed to UK debt, and UK Treasury gilts are its top holding. The fund’s performance over the past 12 months is shown in the graph below.
