Sayers added that since RDR adviser platform purchases have trebled to approximately £600m a year and the number of advisory firms recommending investment companies has more than doubled to over 1000.
Head of investment trusts at JP Morgan Asset Management, Simon Crinage was also welcoming of the development.
“The more platforms investment trusts are available on, the more choice investors have,” he said. There definitely has been increased recognition that lower on-going charges, high levels of corporate governance and structural advantages combine to deliver a compelling investment experience for the shareholders of investment trusts.”
