Starting in September, Cowley will be advising founder and CEO Robin Geffen and James Dowey, chief economist and CIO, on the fixed income portion of the Neptune Balanced fund, as well as offering investment ideas and insight to the investment team.

He will sit on the investment committee for the planned private wealth business, which is due to be launched later this year subject to FCA approval.

“There has never been a more important or harder time than now to correctly blend the messages coming out of the asset markets into client portfolios, commented Cowley.

“I am looking forward to working with Robin and the Neptune team to help develop both their fixed income strategy and their new wealth management business,” he added.

Most recently the former Citywire AAA-rated manager and FE Alpha Manager managed the Old Mutual Global Strategic Bond fund and the Old Mutual Managed Fund at Old Mutual Global Investors.

Cowley has previously held senior executive roles at Invesco, Hill Samuel Asset Management and Newton Investment Management.
