Close Brothers Asset Management has hired Investec Wealth & Investment duo Matt Green and Jonathan Follows, who will join the firm’s London office as senior investment director and senior investment manager, respectively.

Prior to joining Investec W&I in 2014 – three and-a-half years of which were spent as senior investment director – Green spent four years at Barclays Wealth and Investment Management and one year working as a discretionary investment manager at Rensburg Sheppards.

Follows had joined Investec W&I in 2016 as an investment assistant, becoming investment manager three years later, and ending his time there as associate investment director. Prior to Investec W&I, he spent a year-and-a-half as an analyst at Centrica.

Nathanael Pinder, chief commercial officer at CBAM, said: “We were delighted to have Jonathan join our London team earlier this month, and with Matt now joining we have added even more valuable experience to help bolster CBAM’s bespoke offering. Their contributions will play a significant role in CBAM’s ongoing growth and commitment to delivering tailored financial management solutions for our clients.”

CBAM has made several hires from Investec W&I this year, with Adam Findlay joining the firm as an investment manager in May, Marcus Vertue being hired as a senior investment director in June, and Chris Hutchinson also joining as a senior investment manager in August.

Rathbones completed its £839m merger with Investec Wealth & Management UK in September this year, creating a discretionary wealth manager with more than £100bn in funds under management and administration. Investec Group subsequently owns 41.3% of Rathbones Group and has 29.9% voting rights.
