To help clear up any confusion, the new sub fund names will also include geographic indicators to distinguish them from other BlackRock funds with similar names and to clearly highlight where a relevant fund is domiciled.

The cosmetic changes will be applied to each group at various stages, subject to regulatory consent.

The collective investment funds are scheduled for their rebrand by 30 June 2017.

The selected funds from this group will also be rebranded as “index funds,” as opposed to “tracker funds.”

BlackRock’s Fixed Income Dublin Funds and Index Selection Funds are due to get their name changes by 11 July this year, while the Global Index Funds will have updated monikers by 29 August.

The Swiss index funds will have their names changed by the 28 September 2017.
