Aubrey Capital Management has hired Ramsay Wilson from UBS to become an investment manager in its private client team.

Wilson takes over from John James, who retired in November. He will report to investment manager Chris Sutton and look after a wide range of client portfolios.

At UBS, he looked after a wide range of private client portfolios, covering Scotland and the UK regions.

Before this, he worked for a hedge fund based in Zurich as well as in the investment team for a large independent Scottish family office. He started his career in 2007, in London, as a trainee investment manager with Brewin Dolphin.

Wilson holds an MSc in finance and investment management and is also a chartered member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment.

Sutton said: “We’re currently expanding our range of investment products for our clients, and Ramsay’s expertise will play a pivotal role in this. We’re confident that he will be a great asset to our team.”
