This follows the firm receiving regulatory approval from the FSA to manage investment portfolios out of London on 6 June this year, just under three years after registering in the UK.
He joins senior portfolio manager John Lovito and portfolio manager Federico Garcia Zamora on the international fixed income team and will be responsible for security selection of non-US credit securities.
This is a promotion for Chester who will continue to provide credit analysis on euro and UK issuers as well as working with the US credit team to identify relative value opportunities between the US and Europe.
Chester joined American Century Investment in November last year, prior to which he was with Western Asset Management, also based in London where he was a senior credit analyst specialising in European credit.
He has previously worked as a senior fixed income credit analyst with ABN Amro Bank and a credit rating analyst with NatWest Bank, both in London. He was also a corporate manager with First National Bank of South Africa in Johannesburg.
This increased credit function in London complements the launch in 2009 of American Century Investments’ Ucits US and Global Growth Equity fund range.
